Praise be to the little white pill
for confirming my interest in
going outside again this time
last year I was like a gravity
monger peddling low to only
myself my brain like the back
of a warped bookshelf the sign
on the way to recycling always
advertising Surf & Turf & Hurt
in my head a crocus was never
magical a woman on our street
rescued a ferret I couldn’t even
focus on her story of how it
turned out to be a mink generic
escitalopram you surprised me
like the neon orange gel polish
I got this week that glows
in the dark I thought we were
having a lightning storm it was
my hands tucking in my son danke
daily 5mg construction worker
sweating in the heat to wave me
through expediently the truth is
my father died we never know
what’s coming next when God closes
a window He opens a door
He sometimes rips the roof right
off a doublewide
